Target Information

Mouse microtubule-associated protein 6 (MAP6, STOP) is an 89 kDa temperature-stable cytosolic protein whose four 18-amino-acid repeats clamp tubulin dimers, preventing cold-induced microtubule depolymerization. A solvent-exposed 16-aa "EEV" loop (aa 420-435) between repeats 2 and 3 folds into a β-turn unique among mouse MAPs, presenting a conformational epitope preserved after fixation. Antibodies targeting this loop trace native MAP6 in neuronal dendrites, oligodendrocyte processes, and testicular Sertoli cells, delivering crisp fibrillar staining and single-band clarity on immunoblots with no cross-reaction to MAP2 or MAP4.
