Target Information

Mouse inter-alpha-globulin inhibitor H4 (ITIH4) is a 120 kDa acute-phase plasma glycoprotein synthesized in liver. It belongs to the inter-alpha-trypsin inhibitor family, forming heavy-chain complexes that stabilize extracellular matrix and modulate protease activity during inflammation. Rapidly up-regulated following infection, trauma, or metabolic stress, ITIH4 serves as a quantitative marker of systemic inflammatory tone. As a key component of the acute-phase response, ITIH4 is an important target for studies of inflammation, infection, and metabolic dysregulation.
