Rat Ribonuclease P (RNase P) is a ribonucleoprotein complex responsible for cleaving the 5' leader sequence from precursor tRNAs, generating mature tRNA molecules. It is ubiquitously expressed in nuclei and mitochondria, where it maintains tRNA processing fidelity and supports protein synthesis. RNase P consists of a catalytic RNA subunit and multiple protein subunits, making it a reliable marker for transcriptional and post-transcriptional activity. Antibodies to RNase P enable precise localization and functional analysis of tRNA maturation in rat tissues and cultured cells.
