Target Information

Matrix metallopeptidase 7, also known as matrilysin, is encoded by the MMP7 gene in pigs. Research found that MMP-7 released from the porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV)-infected nasal epithelial cells contributed to the destruction of endothelial integrity by degrading the tight junctions.
