Target Information

C-X-C motif chemokine 2, also known as MIP2, plays a significant role in inflammatory responses. For instance, during encephalitis virus infection, CXCL2 facilitates the recruitment of inflammatory monocytes by binding to the C-C motif chemokine receptor 2 (CCR2). Elevated CXCL2 expression is linked to chronic inflammation and metabolic disorders. In conditions such as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), CXCL2 overexpression results in mitochondrial dysfunction and metabolic abnormalities. In a high-fat diet-induced diabetes model, increased CXCL2 expression is associated with insulin resistance and liver damage, while inhibiting its expression can improve metabolic parameters. Moreover, the overexpression of CXCL2 causes mitochondrial dysfunction and metabolic abnormalities in both the liver and muscle.
