Target Information

Transcription Factor 21 (TCF21), also known as pod-1, capsuling, or epicardin, is a protein encoded by the TCF21 gene in cattle. TCF21 is ubiquitously expressed in many tissues and cell types, with high expression in the lung and placenta. It is crucial for the development of various cell types during embryogenesis of the heart, lung, kidney, and spleen. It has known roles in the development of multiple organs, including the testis.
