Target Information

The CD83 antigen is thought to play a crucial role in antigen presentation or the cellular interactions that occur after lymphocyte activation. In mice, CD83 has several functions, including regulating the development and function of T and B cells, influencing immune tolerance and inflammatory responses, and offering therapeutic potential for certain diseases. The CD83 gene is vital for the development and function of different T cell subsets in mice. Research has demonstrated that mice lacking the CD83 gene exhibit a significant reduction in CD4+ T cells and an increase in CD8+ T cells, suggesting that CD83 influences the immune system by modulating the balance of T cell subsets.
