Target Information
L-Lactate Dehydrogenase C Chain is an enzyme involved in converting pyruvate to lactate, a key step in cellular metabolism, particularly under anaerobic conditions. It is found in various tissues, including muscle, liver, and red blood cells. It is encoded by the LDHC gene in pigs. Research has shown that LDHC is activated in mature Sertoli cells (mSCs) and its overexpression significantly increases lactate secretion in SCs.
