Target Information

Interleukin-17 (IL-17) is a family of pro-inflammatory cytokines produced by a group of T helper cells known as T helper 17 cells. IL-17 cytokine family has an important role in the host protection against specific pathogens. It can be a potent immunopotentiator for the prevention of microbial pathogen infections. Overall, the IL-17 family contributes to immune defense against infections, but excess production during chronic inflammation is associated with various inflammatory and autoimmune disorders.
