Target Information

Bacterial lipopolysaccharides (LPS), also referred to as endotoxins, play a significant role as a major virulence factor in both humans and animals. These molecules are responsible for the lethal effects and clinical manifestations of various diseases. Interestingly, higher animals demonstrate an acute sensitivity to endotoxin, even when exposed to low doses. In contrast, lower vertebrates, such as fish, often exhibit resistance to endotoxic shock.
