Target Information

C-X-C motif chemokine 17 is a chemokine that serves as a chemoattractant for monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells, playing a role in angiogenesis and potentially in tumor development. CXCL17 is involved in the inflammatory response by attracting these specific immune cells. In CXCL17 knockout mice (CXCL17−/−), stimulation with lipopolysaccharide (LPS) revealed a significant defect in neutrophil recruitment, indicating CXCL17's crucial role in the early inflammatory response. Additionally, CXCL17 exhibits a broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity, capable of inhibiting the growth of bacteria and fungi, thus positioning it as a potential antimicrobial factor.
