Target Information

Glucokinase is encoded by the GCK gene in pigs. It is an enzyme responsible for the conversion of glucose into glucose-6 phosphate and plays a central role as a glucose sensor in the regulation of glucose homeostasis. Glucokinase is a hexokinase isozyme, related homologously to at least three other hexokinases.
