Target Information

Coagulation factor IX, also known as Christmas factor, is a vital component of the blood coagulation system. It belongs to the serine protease family (peptidase family S1). Coagulation Factor IX is encoded by the F9 gene in pigs. It is a vitamin K-dependent serine protease zymogen. F9 can be activated to be F9a by F11 and/or F7Ia/tissue factor complex in the presence of calcium and phospholipids.
