Target Information
Proteasome Subunit Beta Type-8 is encoded by the PSMB8 gene in pigs. This gene encodes a member of the proteasome B-type family, also known as the T1B family, that is a 20S core beta subunit. PSMB8 activity has previously been shown to be required for the production of proinflammatory cytokines. LMP7/PSMB8, a component of the IFN-γ-inducible immunoproteasome, functions upon pathogenic insults in cells that control immune signaling and cell survival pathways by modulating transcriptional activators and repressors.
