Target Information
Interleukin-1 receptor accessory protein (IL1RAP) functions as a coreceptor for IL1RL2 in the IL-36 signaling system and also partners with IL1R1 in the IL-1 signaling system. It associates with IL1R1 bound to IL1B to form a high-affinity interleukin-1 receptor complex, which mediates interleukin-1-dependent activation of NF-kappa-B and other signaling pathways. IL1RAP is a crucial component of the IL-1 receptor complex and facilitates the signaling of IL-1 and IL-33 to regulate inflammatory responses. In mice, IL1RAP is implicated in the development of various inflammation-related diseases. For instance, in a lung inflammation model, IL1RAP-deficient mice exhibited reduced neutrophil infiltration and lower expression levels of inflammatory factors like IL-6 and IL-1β, highlighting IL1RAP's key role in the inflammatory process via the IL-1 signaling pathway.
