Target Information

Pituitary Adenylate Cyclase-Activating Polypeptide (PACAP) is a highly conserved neuropeptide that plays essential roles in neuronal physiology and transcription. PACAP interacts with Gs/Gq-coupled receptors. Its actions within the hypothalamus, limbic system, and mnemonic systems. Bovine Pituitary Adenylate Cyclase-Activating Polypeptide is encoded by the ADCYAP1 gene in cattle. It is a hypothalamic neuropeptide that stimulates release of growth hormone from cultured bovine anterior pituitary gland cells.
