Specifications
Target Information
Citrate Synthase, Mitochondrial is encoded by the CS gene in pigs. It is synthesized using cytoplasmic ribosomes and then transported into the mitochondrial matrix. It is an enzyme that exists in nearly all living cells and serves as a pace-making enzyme in the first step of the citric acid cycle (also known as the Krebs cycle). CS is a dimeric, mitochondrial protein, composed of two identical subunits. It is a well-suited substrate protein for studying chaperone function.
