Target Information
CCN family member 1, also known as Protein CYR61, is involved in promoting cell proliferation, chemotaxis, angiogenesis, and cell adhesion. It appears to contribute to wound healing by up-regulating genes related to angiogenesis, inflammation, and matrix remodeling in skin fibroblasts, such as VEGA-A, VEGA-C, MMP1, MMP3, TIMP1, uPA, PAI-1, and integrins alpha-3 and alpha-5. In mice, CCN1 performs various functions, including roles in angiogenesis, tissue repair, inflammatory response, heart disease, and tumorigenesis. In non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), CCN1 exacerbates liver inflammation and damage by recruiting macrophages and activating the MyD88-dependent signaling pathway.
