Target Information

Apoh interacts with various negatively charged substances, including heparin, phospholipids, and dextran sulfate. It may inhibit the intrinsic blood coagulation cascade by binding to phospholipids present on the surface of damaged cells. In mice, ApoH plays a role in bile acid metabolism, regulation of intestinal microbiota, chronic viral infection, alcohol-induced liver damage, sepsis protection, and the immune response. ApoH acts as an enzyme involved in bile acid metabolism, and its downregulation in mice is closely linked to the pathophysiological processes of metabolic-associated fatty liver disease (MASLD).
