Target Information
Insulin autoimmune syndrome (IAS) is characterized by spontaneous hyperinsulinemic hypoglycemia caused by insulin-binding autoantibodies. It can be challenging to differentiate IAS from other forms of hyperinsulinemic hypoglycemia, such as those caused by tumors or covert insulin administration. The anti-insulin antibody test is used to determine whether the body has produced antibodies against insulin. The function of anti-insulin autoantibodies in mice is mainly reflected in their close relationship with the pathogenesis of type 1 diabetes. IAA not only serves as an early biomarker of the disease, but also participates in the pathological process of diabetes by interfering with insulin function, activating immune responses, and promoting the destruction of pancreatic β cells.
