Target Information
ATP-citrate synthase, encoded by the Acly gene in mice, catalyzes the cleavage of citrate into oxaloacetate and acetyl-CoA. Acetyl-CoA then serves as a common substrate for the de novo synthesis of cholesterol and fatty acids. The function of ATP-citrate synthase in mice is mainly reflected in lipid metabolism, energy metabolism and interaction with other metabolic pathways. Its activity and expression are affected by many factors (such as diet, metabolic state, disease model, etc.), and plays an important role in the occurrence and development of diseases such as obesity, diabetes and cancer.
