Target Information

Bone sialoprotein is the second major sialoprotein of bone. It is also referred to as bone sialoprotein-2 or integrin-binding sialoprotein. Bovine Bone Sialoprotein 2 is encoded by the IBSP gene in cattle. The deduced protein sequence revealed a 310 amino acid protein containing a signal peptide sequence of 16 hydrophobic amino acids. The protein sequence shows remarkable conservation with previously published human and rat sequences.
