Target Information
Bovine von Willebrand Factor is encoded by the VWF gene in cattle. It is a protein necessary for platelet adhesion and thrombus formation which is specifically synthesized in endothelial cells and in platelet precursors. VWF promotes platelet adhesion to the subendothelial matrix at sites of vascular injury. It acts as a bridge between platelets and exposed collagen fibers in damaged blood vessels.
