Mouse Regenerating Islet Derived Protein 4 (REG4) ELISA Kit-Sandwich

Regenerating islet-derived protein 4 is a mannose-specific lectin that operates independently of calcium and retains its carbohydrate recognition capabilities even in acidic conditions. This protein may play a role in the inflammatory and metaplastic processes of the gastrointestinal lining. In mice, Reg IV contributes to cancer progression, inflammatory conditions, tissue healing, and antibacterial defenses. In a DSS-induced mouse model of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), there is a marked increase in the expression of Reg IV within the intestinal epithelial cells. Additionally, in a non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) model, Reg IV helps protect the liver by minimizing interactions between the intestinal microbiota and the host, thereby preventing bacterial migration.
