Target Information

Bovine Retinal Dehydrogenase 1 is an enzyme involved in the visual cycle, converting retinol (vitamin A) to retinaldehyde, a crucial intermediate for the production of light-sensitive molecules in the retina. It is encoded by the ALDH1A1 gene in cattle. It is a cytosolic enzyme that mainly catalyzes the oxidation of acetaldehyde into acetic acid and participates in the regulation of differentiation and gene expression in fat cell growth and development.
