Target Information
Adrenomedullin (ADM) and proadrenomedullin N-20 terminal peptide (PAMP) are peptide hormones known for their strong hypotensive and vasodilatory effects. They are primarily involved in the physiological regulation of fluid and electrolyte balance. ADM has an important regulatory role in the cardiovascular system. It is a potent vasodilator that inhibits the expression and secretion of the atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) gene by increasing the accumulation of cAMP, thereby affecting cardiac function. Research indicates that the absence of adrenomedullin in the endothelial cells of mice leads to impaired angiogenesis, increased vascular permeability, reduced metastasis, and heightened brain damage.
