Target Information
The oxytocin receptor (OXTR), also known as OXTR, is a protein that functions as a receptor for the hormone and neurotransmitter oxytocin. Bovine Oxytocin Receptor is encoded by the OXTR gene in cattle. In ruminants, the action of oxytocin to regulate the pulsatile release of prostaglandin F2alpha during luteolysis in ruminants is mediated via OXTRs present on uterine epithelial cells.
