Testosterone is a hormone produced by the male testis that is responsible for the development of male sex organs and masculine characteristics. It plays a crucial role in the development of male reproductive tissues such as the penis, testes, and prostate. Both males and females naturally produce testosterone, but males produce significantly more of it than females. Research has shown that testosterone at 10-6 m promotes the activation of porcine primordial follicles in vitro through the androgen receptors in the oocytes.
