Target Information

Thromboxane B2 (TXB2) is an inactive metabolite/product of thromboxane A2. It is not itself involved in platelet activation and aggregation in the event of a wound, but its precursor, thromboxane A2, is. When administered to developing chick embryos at 48 and 72 hours of incubation, thromboxane B2 caused growth retardation and induced a high incidence of abnormalities, in particular twisted viscera.
