Mouse Lysyl Oxidase Like Protein 2 (LOXL2) ELISA Kit-Sandwich

LOXL2 catalyzes the post-translational oxidative deamination of lysine residues on target proteins, resulting in the formation of deaminated lysine. It functions as a transcription corepressor and specifically targets the deamination of trimethylated lysine-4 on histone H3 (H3K4me3), a key epigenetic marker associated with transcriptional activation. LOXL2 is critically involved in a wide range of physiological and pathological processes, including fibrosis, tumor progression, osteoarthritis, skin development, and metabolic disorders. In a bleomycin (BLM)-induced mouse model of pulmonary fibrosis, LOXL2 expression is markedly upregulated, and its inhibition has been shown to significantly attenuate the progression of fibrosis. This includes suppressing the proliferation of mouse lung fibroblasts (MLFs) and reducing the release of inflammatory mediators. Furthermore, LOXL2 modulates the inflammatory response in pulmonary fibrosis through the TGF-β/Smad signaling pathway, such as by downregulating the expression of IL-6 and COL1A1.
