Target Information

Similar to Uroplakin-1a, Uroplakin-1b is another protein found in the uppermost layer of cells lining the urinary tract. Uroplakin-1b contributes to the overall stability and impermeability of the protective layer. It works alongside Uroplakin-1a and other uroplakins to strengthen the protective barrier and maintain barrier integrity. Uroplakin-1b is encoded by the UPK1B gene in bovine. Gene for uroplakin 1B was mapped to bovine Chromosome 1.
