Target Information

NLR family pyrin domain containing 3 (NLRP3) is primarily expressed in macrophages and serves as a component of the inflammasome. It detects products of damaged cells, such as extracellular ATP and crystalline uric acid. NLRP3 is part of the innate immune system, functioning as a pattern recognition receptor (PRR) that recognizes pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs). In rabbits, this protein is encoded by the NLRP3 gene. PEDF (pigment epithelium-derived factor) was found to inhibit the activation of NLRP3 inflammatory vesicles in a rabbit model, thereby reducing lung inflammation
