Target Information

Bovine CDP-Diacylglycerol-Glycerol-3-Phosphate 3-Phosphatidyltransferase, Mitochondrial is encoded by the PGS1 gene in cattle. It plays a crucial role in the biosynthesis of cardiolipin, a unique phospholipid found in the inner mitochondrial membrane. PGS1 is primarily located in the endoplasmic reticulum. PGS1 catalyzes the first committed step in cardiolipin biosynthesis. Cardiolipin is essential for mitochondrial function and stability. PGS1 is involved in the metabolism of diacylglycerol, a precursor for various lipid molecules.

Target/Biomarker Bovine PGS1
Target Synonym phosphatidylglycerophosphate synthase 1; CDP-diacylglycerol--glycerol-3-phosphate 3-phosphatidyltransferase, mitochondrial; PGP synthase 1
