Target Information

Bovine Oviduct-Specific Glycoprotein is encoded by the OVGP1 gene in cattle. OVGP1 is a large, carbohydrate-rich, epithelial glycoprotein with numerous O-glycosylation sites located within threonine, serine, and proline-rich tandem repeats. It shares similarities with members of the mucin and the glycosyl hydrolase 18 gene families. OVGP1 has been identified in several mammalian species. It is exclusively synthesized and secreted by nonciliated secretory cells in the oviductal epithelium.

Target/Biomarker Bovine OVGP1
Target Synonym oviductal glycoprotein 1; oviduct-specific glycoprotein; estrogen-dependent oviduct protein; oviductal glycoprotein 1, 120kDa (mucin 9, oviductin); oviductin
