Target Information

The gene product of ABCG2 is one of the most recently discovered members of the ABC transporter family, a large family of membrane-bound ATP-dependent transporters that translocate a wide range of substrates across biological membranes. It was found that mitochondrial ABCG2 is a functional transporter and that mitochondrial ABCG2 regulates ALA-mediated PpIX levels through PpIX export from mitochondria to the cytosol.

Target/Biomarker Porcine ABCG2
Target Synonym ATP-binding cassette sub-family G member 2; Brain multidrug resistance protein; ABCG2; BMDP; Urate exporter; CD338
