Specifications
Target Information
Phosphatidylinositol 4-kinase beta is an enzyme that phosphorylates phosphatidylinositol (PI) to generate phosphatidylinositol-4-phosphate (PI4P), a signaling molecule involved in various cellular processes like membrane trafficking, cell signaling, and cytoskeletal organization. It is found in various cellular compartments, including the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi apparatus. It is encoded by the PI4KB gene in bovine. PI4KB is critical for the maintenance of the Golgi and trans-Golgi network (TGN) PI4P pools.
