Target Information

Interferon alpha is encoded by the chicken IFNA gene. It is a member of the type I IFNs, which are important antiviral cytokines of the innate immune system. All type I IFNs bind to a specific cell surface receptor complex known as the IFN-α receptor (IFNAR). This receptor consists of two chains: IFNAR1 and IFNAR2. It shares analogous biological and biochemical properties with mammalian interferon alpha.
