Target Information

Prostate-specific arginine esterase (CPSE) is a biomarker associated with the prostate gland in dogs. It is related to prostate size and is secreted by prostate cells under the control of androgens. Canine prostate-specific arginine esterase is encoded by KLK2. It is a member of the kallikrein family with striking similarities to human prostate-specific antigen and has been proposed as a blood serum marker for the diagnosis of benign prostatic hyperplasia.
