Target Information
Bovine Ectonucleotide Pyrophosphatase/Phosphodiesterase Family Member 2 (ENPP2), encoded by the ENPP2 gene, serves as a multifunctional enzyme. It is also known as autotaxin, playing a pivotal role in generating the lipid signaling molecule lysophosphatidic acid (LPA). Autotaxin exhibits lysophospholipase D activity, converting lysophosphatidylcholine into LPA. Remarkably, it functions as a secreted enzyme, contributing to the production of bioactive lysophosphatidic acid.
