Target Information

Phospholipase DDHD1 is an enzyme that breaks down various phospholipids, a diverse group of molecules involved in membrane structure and signaling. The specific substrates and functions of DDHD1 are still being investigated. It is an atypical serine hydrolase that was originally characterised as a phosphatidic acid-preferring phospholipase A1 and was found to also accept phosphatidylinositol, phosphatidylcholine and phosphatidylethanolamine as substrates in vitro.
