Target Information
Bovine Monocyte Differentiation Antigen CD14 is encoded by the CD14 gene in cattle. CD14 is an important player in host innate immunity by conferring lipopolysaccharide sensitivity to cell types such as neutrophils, monocytes and macrophages. Both sCD14 and mCD14 are critical for lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-dependent signal transduction. It serves as a receptor for the lipopolysaccharide-binding protein:lipopolysaccharide complex (LBP). It is essential for recognizing and clearing apoptotic cells without inducing inflammation.
