Target Information

Protein AMBP is encoded by the AMBP gene in pigs. AMBP acts as an antioxidant, protecting against harmful oxidants. It participates in tissue repair by removing and repairing macromolecules in various compartments. Functionally, AMBP encodes an extracellular matrix (ECM) protein that contributes to the structure of muscle cells. AMBP plays a role in cell growth, development, metabolism, immune response, and modulates extracellular matrix proteins and intracellular calcium levels.
