Target Information
The renin receptor, also known as ATPase H (+)-transporting lysosomal accessory protein 2 or the prorenin receptor, is a protein encoded by the ATP6AP2 gene in cattle. The renin receptor binds to renin and prorenin. This binding induces the conversion of angiotensinogen to angiotensin I. It is a type I transmembrane protein that can be cleaved into two fragments in the Golgi apparatus. It could participate in the assembly of the V-ATPase in the endoplasmic reticulum.
