Target Information

CRYBB2 is also known as Crystallin Beta B2. Beta-crystallin B2 is encoded by the CRYBB2 gene in bovine. It belongs to the beta-crystallin family. Crystallins, the major proteins of the mammalian lens, are not only important for maintaining lens stability, transparency and refraction, but also have several physiopathological functions in extraocular tissues. A chain-terminating mutation in CRYBB2 causes type 2 cerulean cataracts.

Target/Biomarker Bovine CRYBB2
Target Synonym Beta-crystallin B2; Beta-B2 crystallin; Beta-crystallin Bp
