Target Information

Lipase, lipoprotein is encoded by the chicken LPL gene. It is also known as triacylglycerol acylhydrolase (lipoprotein-dependent), which belongs to the lipase gene family. It is a water-soluble enzyme that plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism. Lipoprotein lipase catalyzes the hydrolysis of triglycerides to fatty acids and glycerol. In birds, the regulation of LPL in adipose tissue appears to be less sensitive to nutritional status.
