Target Information
8-Hydroxydeoxyguanosine (8-OHdG) is an oxidized derivative of deoxyguanosine. It is a DNA oxidation damage marker that reflects oxidative stress within the body. It results from the hydroxylation of the 8th position of deoxyguanosine (dG), one of the four DNA bases. It is one of the major products of DNA oxidation. It is used as a DNA damage marker in pigs. It can be measured in various samples, including urine, serum, peripheral blood leukocytes, and organ tissues.
