Target Information
Chicken Paxillin (PXN) is a cytoskeletal protein that plays a crucial role in cell adhesion and migration. It localizes to focal adhesions, which are sites where the cell membrane attaches to the extracellular matrix. PXN contains multiple domains, including LD motifs and LIM domains, which facilitate protein-protein interactions. It binds to vinculin and interacts with the SH3 domain of c-SRC and the SH2 domain of v-CRK. In chickens, PXN is involved in actin-membrane attachment and is essential for processes such as wound healing and tissue regeneration. Abnormal expression of PXN has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer.
