Target Information
Rabbit Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF) is a multifunctional cytokine with significant roles in the immune response and inflammation. TNF, particularly TNF-α, is produced by various cells, including macrophages and neurons, and is involved in cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, and lipid metabolism. In rabbits, TNF-α has been shown to induce glomerular damage, highlighting its role in renal pathology. Additionally, TNF-α can alter the electrophysiological properties of rabbit hippocampal neurons, potentially contributing to cognitive changes in models of Alzheimer's disease. These findings underscore TNF's importance in both physiological and pathological processes in rabbits.
