Target Information

Mouse Fibrillin-1 (Fbn1) is a glycoprotein that is a major component of microfibrils in the extracellular matrix. It is involved in the maintenance of connective tissue integrity. Fbn1 provides structural support and regulates the assembly of elastic fibers. Mutations in the Fbn1 gene can lead to Marfan syndrome, a connective tissue disorder characterized by cardiovascular, ocular, and skeletal abnormalities.
