Target Information
In rabbits, Tissue Factor is encoded by the TF gene. It triggers blood coagulation by forming a complex with circulating factor VII or VIIa. The [TF:VIIa] complex activates factors IX or X through specific limited proteolysis. Tissue Factor is essential for normal hemostasis, as it initiates the assembly and propagation of the coagulation protease cascade on the cell surface. Tissue factor is usually closely associated with blood coagulation in mammals, especially during thrombosis and hemostasis. Therefore, tissue factor in rabbits may be involved in similar physiological processes.
